NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case No. 14-88-GA Notice Issued: February 5,, 2015 Hilary A. Eriksen, P 30567, Bear Lake, Michigan, by the Attorney Diisciiplliine Board Grand Traverse County Hearing Panel #1.

1. Suspension - 180 Days 2. Effective January 31, 2015 Respondent did not appear at the hearing and was found to be iin defaullt for her faiillure to file an answer to the formal complaint. Based on respondent's defaullt,. the heariing panell found tthat respondent failed to seek a client's lawful objectives through reasonably avaiillablle means permiitted by law, in violation of MRPC 1.2(a); failed to act with reasonable diligence and prompttness iin representing her clients, in violation of MRPC 1.3; failed to adequately communiicate wiith her clliientts,, in violation of MRPC 1.4(a) and (b); and failed to answer two Requests for Investigation, iin viiollatiion of MCR 9.104(7), MCR 9.113(A), and MCR 9.113(B)(2).

The panel further found that respondent violated or attempted to viiollate the Rulles of Professional Conduct, contrary to MRPC 8.4(a); engaged in conduct prejjudiiciiall to the admiiniisttrattiion of justice, in violation of MRPC 8.4(c) and MCR 9.104(1); engaged in conduct that exposes the llegall profession to obloquy, contempt,. censure, or reproach,. iin viiollation of MCR 9.104(2); engaged iin conduct that is contrary to justice, ethics, honesty, or good morals, iin violatiion of MCR 9.104((3));; and, engaged in conduct that violates the standards or rules of professional responsiibiilliity adopted by the Supreme Court, contrary to MCR 9.104(4).

The panell ordered that respondent''s lliicense to practiice llaw iin Miichiigan be suspended ffor 180 Days and that she pay restiitutiion iin the amount of $2,000.00. Costs were assessed iin the amount of $1,845.74.
