NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case No. 14-18-GA Notice Issued: July 21, 2014

Jeanette M. Riley, P 42517, Flint, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Genesee Hearing Panel #1.

1 . Suspension - 180 Days 2. Effective July 18, 2014 Respondent did not appear at the hearing and was found to be in default for her failure to file an answer to the formal complaint. Based on respondent's default, the hearing panel found that respondent, in a divorce and child custody matter, failed to communicate with her client, in violation of MRPC 1.4(a); failed to communicate adequately with her client concerning the rate or basis of her fees, in violation of MRPC 1.5(c); failed to promptly pay her client the funds to which her client was entitled, in violation of M RPC 1.15(b) (1); failed to render an accounting of the fees to her client, in violation of MRPC 1.15(b)(3); failed to deposit a fee and costs paid in advance of services rendered into a client trust account, in violation of MRPC 1.15(g); failed to refund unearned fees upon termination of the representation, in violation of MRPC 1.16(d); and failed to answer six requests for investigation, in violation of MRPC 8.1 (a)(2), MCR 9.104(7), MCR 9.113(A), and MCR 9.113(B)(2). The panel also found that respondent violated MRPC 8.4(a) and (c), and MCR 9.104(1 )-(4).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for180 days and she pay restitution in the amount of $2,500.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,735.67.
