FINAL NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 11-128-GA Notice Issued: January 29, 2016 Arnold D. Dunchock, P 13013, Corunna, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board, affirming Genesee County Hearing Panel #5's order of suspension.
1. Suspension - 30 Days 2. Effective June 17, 20141 Respondent appeared at the hearing and filed an answer to the formal complaint. The hearing panel found that respondent practiced law while suspended, in violation of MCR 9.119(E); and failed to give reasonable notice to a client of termination of the representation and failed to take reasonable steps to protect the interest of a client upon termination of the representation, in violation of MRPC 1.16(d).
The panel ordered the respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 30 days. Respondent filed a motion for reconsideration which was denied by the panel on July 29, 2014. Respondent then filed a petition for review. The Board, upon review, affirmed the hearing panel's order of suspension on January 30,2105, and respondent filed a motion for reconsideration which was denied by the Board on March 13, 2015.
On April 13, 2015, respondent filed an application for leave to appeal with the Michigan Supreme Court, which was denied on July 28, 2015. Respondent then filed a Motion for Reconsideration, which was denied by the Court on December 22, 2015. Total costs were assessed in the amount of $4,764.65.
