NOTICE OF SUSPENSION WITH CONDITION (By Consent)

Case No. 13-121-GA Notice Issued: February 28, 2014

Ralph M. Engle, P 68919, Auburn Hills, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board TriĀ­ County Hearing Panel #64.

1 . Suspension - 120 Days 2. Effective January 25,2014 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator submitted a stipulation for consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5). The stipulation was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and was accepted by the hearing panel. Based on respondent's plea of no contest, the panel found that respondent neglected his client's matter, in violation of MRPC 1.1 (c); failed to keep his client reasonably informed about the status of a matter and comply promptly with a reasonable request for information, in violation of MRPC 1.4(a); failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit his client to make informed decisions about the representation, MRPC 1.4(b); and engaged in conduct in violation of the standards or rules of professional conduct adopted by the Supreme Court, in violation of MCR 9.104(4).

Pursuant to the agreement of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 120 days, retroactive to January 25,2014, as stipulated by the parties. The panel also ordered that respondent he be subject to a condition relevant to the alleged misconduct. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1 ,000.92.
