NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case No. 13-93-GA Notice Issued: December 11,2013

Jay Courtright, P 69336, Ann Arbor, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #1.

1. Suspension - 3 Years 2. Effective December 6, 2013 Respondent did not appear at the public hearing and was found to be in default for failing to file an answer to Formal Complaint 13-93-GA. Based on respondent's default, the hearing panel found that respondent neglected four client matters, in violation of MRPC 1.1 (c); failed to pursue his clients' legal objectives through all reasonably available means, in violation of MRPC 1.2; failed to act with diligence in his representation of four clients, in violation of MRPC 1.3; failed to keep three of his clients reasonably informed regarding the status of their matters and reply promptly with

reasonable requests for information, in violation of MRPC 1.4(a); colleted a clearly excessive fee; in violation of MRPC 1.5; failed to refund unearned legal fees paid in advance, in violation of 1.16(d ); and failed to answer a request for investigation served upon him by the Grievance

Administrator, in violation of MCR 9.104(7) and MCR 9.113(A) and (B). The panel also found that respondent violated MRPC 8.4(a) and MCR 9.104(3)-(4).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for three years and that he pay restitution in the aggregate amount of$2, 150.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1 ,944.32.
