NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 13-82-GA Notice Issued: January 9, 2014

Damika L. Pace-Byrd, P 60446, Flint, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Genesee County Hearing Panel #5.

1. Suspension - 180 Days 2. Effective December 27,20131 Respondent did not appear at the public hearing and was found to be in default for failing to file an answer to Formal Complaint 13-82-GA. Based on respondent's default, the hearing panel found that respondent provided incompetent representation to a client, in violation of MRPC 1.1; handled a matter which the lawyer knows or should know that the lawyer is not competent to handle, without associating with a lawyer who is competent to handle it, in violation of MRPC 1.1

(a); knowingly failed to respond to a lawful demand for information from a disciplinary authority, in violation of MRPC 8.1 (a)(2); and failed to answer a request for investigation, in violation of MCR 9.104(7) and MCR 9.113(A) and (B)(2). The panel also found that respondent violated MRPC 8.4(a) and (c); and MCR 9.104(1)-(4).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 180 days. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,821.66.
