NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case No. 13-68-GA Notice Issued: October 30, 2013

Eric B. Dodson, P 63246, St. Ignace, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Emmet County Hearing Panel #1.

1. Suspension - 180 Days 2. Effective October 24,2013 Respondent appeared at the public hearing but was found to be in default for failing to file an answer to Formal Complaint 13-68-GA. Based on respondent's default, the hearing panel found

that respondent, who was retained to extend a Personal Protection Order (PPO), neglected the matter, in violation of MRPC 1.1 (c); failed to seek his client's lawful objectives, in violation of MRPC

1.2(a); failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness, in violation of MRPC 1.3; failed to adequately communicate with his client, in violation of MRPC 1.4(a) and (c); failed to deposit a legal fee paid in advance of services rendered into a client trust account, in violation of 1.15(g); failed to refund an unearned fee and return documents belonging to the client upon termination of the representation, in violation of MRPC 1.16(d); failed to respond to lawful demands for information from a disciplinary authority, in violation of MRPC 8.1 (a)(2); and failed to timely answer a request

for investigation, in violation of MCR 9.104(7) and MCR 9.113(8)(2). The panel also found that respondent violated MRPC 8.4(a)-(c); and MCR 9.104(1)-(4).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended 180 days and that he pay restitution in the amount of $1,000.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1 ,724.64.
