NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case No. 11-135-GA Notice Issued: March 7, 2012

1. Suspension - Two Years 2. Effective March 7,2012 Respondent did not appear at the hearing and was found to be in default for failing to file an answer to the formal complaint. Based on respondent's default, the panel found that she neglected two legal matters entrusted to her, in violation of MRPC 1.1 (c); failed to seek her clients' lawful objectives through reasonably available means permitted by law, in violation of MRPC 1.2(a); failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing two clients, in violation of MRPC 1.3; failed to adequately communicate with two clients, in violation of MRPC 1.4(a) and (b); failed to surrender papers and other property to which one of her clients was entitled and failed to refund the advance payment of the fee and costs upon termination of the representation, in violation of MRPC 1.16(d); failed to make reasonable efforts to expedite litigation consistent with the interest of one of her clients, in violation of MRPC 3.2; engaged in conduct which violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, in violation of MRPC 8.4(a); engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice, in violation of MRPC 8.4(c) and MCR 9.1 04(A)( 1); engaged in conduct that exposes the legal profession to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach, in violation of MCR 9.1 04(A)(2); engaged in conduct that is contrary to justice, ethics, honesty, or good morals, in violation of MCR 9.1 04(A)(3); engaged in conduct that violates the standards or rules of professional responsibility adopted by the Supreme Court, in violation of MCR 9.1 04(A)(4); and failed to answer three requests for investigation served upon her by the Grievance Administrator, in violation of MCR 9.1 04(A)(7) and MCR 9.113(A) and (8)(2).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for two years and that she pay restitution in the amount of $850.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,837.25.
