Effective August 17, 2011 Prior to the scheduled show cause hearing scheduled for August 22, 2011, respondent requested an adjournment, stating that, due to his incarceration, he was physically unable to attend the hearing. In accordance with MCR 9.115(H), the hearing panel determined that respondent's claim of physical incapacity as the reason for his inability to appear warranted an interim suspension from the practice of law until further order of the panel.
On August 17, 2011, the panel issued an order suspending respondent's license to practice law in Michigan until further order of the hearing panel or the Attorney Discipline Board, and granting his motion to adjourn the August 22, 2011 hearing.
