NOTICE OF REPRIMAND AND RESTITUTION (By Consent)

Case No. 11-49-GA Notice Issued: June 10, 2011

Steven R. Schneider, P 20034, Almont, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #55.

1. Reprimand 2. Effective June 9, 2011 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(f)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Respondent pleaded no contestto the allegations that he committed professional misconduct in a bankruptcy matter by handling a legal matter without preparation adequate in the circumstances; failing to seek the client's lawful objective through reasonably available means permitted by law; and failing to make reasonable efforts to ensure that he paralegal's conduct was compatible with the professional obligations of a lawyer.

Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(b); 1.2(a); 5.3(b); and 8.4(a).

Based upon the stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded and that he pay restitution in the amount of $4,206.85. Costs were assessed in the amount of $756.63.
