NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND CONDITIONS (By Consent) Case No. 10-134-GA Notice Issued: February 23, 2011

1. Suspension - Two Years and 11 Months 2. Effective February 18, 2011 The respondent and Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Respondent pleaded no contest to the allegations that, in four matters, he took retainers but did not deposit the funds into a client trust account, and failed to perform the duties for which he was hired. In a fifth matter, respondent pleaded no contest to the allegation that he asked a client's father for money, falsely claiming that he could bribe a U.S.
Attorney for a reduced sentence in a criminal matter, but then denied his actions to the Grievance Administrator.
Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.1 04(A)(1 )-(5); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a); 1.15(d); 1.16(d); 8.1(a)(1); and 8.4(a)-(c).
In accordance with the stipulation, the hearing panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan should be suspended for two years and eleven months and that he pay restitution in the aggregate amount of $13,500.00. Respondent was also ordered to be subject to a condition relevant to the alleged misconduct. Costs were ~ssessed in the amount of $1,055.97.
