NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 09-50-GA· Notice Issued: October 5, 2010 Samuel E. McCargo, P 25298, Detroit, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #27.

1. Suspension - 179 Days 2. Effective October 2, 2010 The hearing panel found that respondent, in his representation of a defendant in a whistle-blower's lawsuit against the City of Detroit, participated in an attempted coverup of the settlement agreement and other documents in the case; failed to disclose material misrepresentations made by his clients to the judge; failed to take appropriate remedial action after he had actual knowledge of likely false testimony by his clients; and failed to respond truthfully in his answer to a request for investigation served upon him by the Grievance AdministratoL

Respondent's conduct was in violation of Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.2; 3_3(a); 3.4; and 8.1.

The hearing panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 179 days. Costs were assessed in the amount of $36,454.97.
