NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)

1. Reprimand 2. Effective August 28, 2010 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. The stipulation contains respondent's plea of no contest to the allegations that, in a civil lawsuit, he failed to keep his client reasonably informed about the status of the matter; and failed to explain the legal matter to his client to an extent reasonably necessary to permit his client to make informed decisions, in violation of Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4(a) and (b).
Based upon the stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded with a condition relevant to the alleged misconduct. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1 ,042.14.
