1. Suspension - 40 Months 2. Effective September 8, 2010 Respondent did not appear at the hearing and was found to be in default for failing to file an answer to the formal complaint. Based on respondent's default, the panel found that respondent charged an illegal fee; engaged in the unauthorized practice of law; failed to answer a request for
investigation; and failed to respond to a lawful demand for information form a disciplinary authority.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.1 04(A)(1), (2), (4), and (7); MCR 9.113; and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.5(a); 5.5(a); and 8.4(a)-(c). The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 40 months and assessed costs in the amount of $1,966.37.
