NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION (By Consent)

Robert J. Singer, P 23625, Farmington Hills, Michigan by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #60.

1. Suspension - Three Years 2. Effective June 25, 2009 The respondent and Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Based on the stipulation, the panel found that respondent committed professional misconduct when he neglected two legal matters; failed to keep his clients reasonably informed about the status of their matters; failed to adequately communicate

with his clients or to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing his clients; knowingly failed to respond to the Grievance Administrator's demand for information; failed to fully and fairly answer two requests for investigation; misappropriated monies; failed to safekeep client funds; failed to notify his client when he received funds in which his client had an interest; failed to

promptly pay funds to a third party; failed to withdraw upon discharge; failed to return an advance payment of a fee; and engaged in a prohibited business transaction with his client.

Respondent's conduct was in violation of MCR 9.1 04(A)(1)-(4) and (7); 9.113(A) and (B)(2); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a)-(b); 1.8; 1.15(b)(3) and (d); 1.16(a) and (d); 8.1 (a)(1 )-(2); and 8.4(a)-(c).

In accordance with the stipulation, the panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for three years and that he pay restitution in the aggregate amount of $4,950.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,038.22.
