David Hossein Safavian, P 48165, Alexandria, Virginia. Effective December 19, 2008. Respondent was found guilty in U.S. District Court of one count of obstructing an agency investigation, in violation of 18 USC §1505; and three counts offalse statements, in violation of 18 USC §1001, all felonies. In accordance with MCR 9.120(8)(1), respondent's license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended effective December 19, 2008, the date of his felony convictions.
Upon the filing of a judgment of conviction, this matter will be assigned to a hearing panel for further proceedings. The interim suspension will remain in effect until the effective date of an order filed by a hearing panel.
