NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 19-93-GA Notice Issued: December 18, 2020 Andrew M. Hopko, P 74737, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #27.

Suspension - 30 Days, Effective December 18, 2020. Based on the evidence presented to the hearing panel at hearings held in this matter in accordance with MCR 9.115, the hearing panel found that respondent committed professional misconduct when he failed to answer a request for investigation (RI) and failed to appear when subpoenaed by the Grievance Administrator for a sworn statement in connection with the investigation of the RI.

The panel found that respondent knowingly failed to respond to a lawful demand for information from a disciplinary authority, in violation of MRPC 8.1(a)(2); and failed to answer a Request for Investigation in conformity with MCR 9.113(A), in violation of MCR 9.104(7). Respondent was also found to have violated MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and MRPC 8.4(a) and (c).

The panel majority ordered that respondent’s license to practice law be suspended for a period of 30 days. A dissenting panel member would have reprimanded respondent. Total costs were assessed in the amount of $2,290.96.
