NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 08-138-GA Torger G. Omdahl, P 23360, Iron River, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Upper Peninsula County Hearing Panel #2.
1. Reprimand 2. Effective December 30, 2008. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing .panel. Respondent pled no contest to the allegations that he failed to make reasonable efforts to ensure that the firm had measures in effect giving reasonable assurance that the conduct of nonlawyer assistants is compatible with the professional obligations of the lawyer, in violation of the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 5.3(a) and (b) and 8.4(a).
Based upon the stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $773.49.
