NOTICE OF SUSPENSION WITH CONDITIONS Case No. 07-127-GA Notice Issued: January 16, 2008 Denise A. Baker, P 53670, Grand Rapids, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Kent County Hearing Panel #4.

1. Suspension - 180 Days 2. Effective January 4, 2008 The respondent failed to appear at the hearing and was found to be in default for her failure to file an answer to the formal complaint. The panel specifically found that, because respondent had not denied the allegations, she had committed professional misconduct as alleged in the formal complaint, specifically, that she pled guilty to having possessed cocaine, less than 25 grams, and was placed on contractual probation for two years. Respondent was also required to maintain a monitoring relationship with the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program (LJAP), but that contract was terminated due to her non-compliance, and her contractual probation was also terminated. The panel found that respondent's conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(5).

The hearing panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 180 days and imposed conditions relevant to the established misconduct. Costs were assessed in the total amount of $2,061.84.
