NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION (By Consent)
Case No. 07-1 02-GA Notice Issued: October 9, 2007 Pamela C. Montgomery, P 66348, Detroit, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #68.
1. Suspension - 24 Months 2. Effective August 7, 2007 The respondent and Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), containing respondent's plea of no contest to the allegations that she neglected various legal matters entrusted to her by one client; failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in handling the legal affairs of her client; failed to keep her client reasonably informed about the status of her cases; failed to explain the matters to her client
to the extent necessary to permit her to make informed decisions regarding the representations; engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, or violation of the
criminal law, where such conduct reflects adversely on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer; engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice; and engaged in conduct that exposes the legal profession or the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.1 04(A)(1), (2), and (4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 (c); 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); 8.4(a)-(c)
In accordance with the stipulation approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission, the panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 24 months, to run concurrently with the suspension ordered in Grievance Administrator v Pamela C. Montgomery, Case No. 07-39-GA. Respondent was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $3,400.00 and costs in the amount of $767.10.
