NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent) Case No. 06-15 1- GA Notice Issued: May 24,2007 Richard C. Holst, P 261 10, Wyoming, Michigan by the Attorney Discipline Board lngham County Hearing Panel #2. 1. Suspension - 180 Days (with credit given for 60 Days) 2. Effective June 29, 2007 The respondent and Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.1 15(F)(5), containing respondent's plea of no contest to handling a legal matter without preparation adequate in the circumstances; neglecting a legal matter entrusted to him; failing to seek the lawful objectives of his client through reasonably available means permitted by law; failing to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing his client; failing to adequately communicate with his client; violating or attempting to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct; engaging in conduct that exposes the legal profession or the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach; engaging in conduct that is contrary to justice, ethics, honesty, or good morals; failing to timely answer a request for investigation; and engaging in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice. Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.1 13(A); MCR 9.1 13(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct I .I ( b); I.I( c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); and 8.4(a) and (c). In accordance with the stipulation approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission, the panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan should be suspended for 180 days and that respondent be given credit for 60 days. Costs were assessed in the amount of $779.16.
