NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)

1. Reprimand 2. Effective January 12, 2007 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline containing respondent=s admission that, as appointed counsel in a criminal

matter, she handled a legal matter without adequate preparation in the circumstances; neglected the legal matter; failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing her client; failed to keep her client reasonably informed about the status of his case and complying promptly with his reasonable requests for information; failed to withdraw from representation when her physical or mental condition materially impaired her ability to represent her client; failed to make reasonable efforts to expedite litigation consistent with the interests of her client; engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice; and engaged in conduct that exposes the legal profession to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach.

Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.104(A)(1), (2) and (4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(b) and (c); 1.3; 1.4(a); 1.16(a)(2); 3.2; and 8.4(c). The parties agreed that respondent should be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $759.28.
