FINAL NOTICE OF REPRIMAND AND RESTITUTION Case No. 03-84-GA Notice Issued: March 7,2007 Carol P. Patton, P 37530, Washington, D.C., by the Attorney Discipline Board, affirming Tri- County Hearing Panel #104's order of reprimand and restitution.

1. Reprimand 2. Effective October 14,2006 Tri-County Hearing Panel # I0 5found that respondent had neglected a legal matter by failing to attend two status conferences; failing to return her client's telephone calls or keep him advised of the status of his matter; and failing to respond to successor counsel's stipulation for substitution of counsel. In a real estate matter, respondent failed to attend a scheduled closing.

Respondent's conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(I)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1. I(c ); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); 1.16(d); and 8.4(a) and (c).

The Attorney Discipline Board ordered the matter re-assigned to a new hearing panel and a sanction hearing was held before Tri-County Hearing Panel #104. That panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. The panel also ordered that respondent pay $500.00 in restitution. Respondent filed a timely petition for review and, on January 25, 2007, the Attorney Discipline Board issued an order reaffirming Tri-County Hearing Panel #104's order of reprimand and restitution. Total costs were assessed in the amount of $3,332.53.
