NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case No. 05-136-GA Notice Issued: July 25, 2006 Jeffrey R. McLeod, P 36371, Lathrup Village, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #55.

1. Suspension - 179 Days 2. Effective July 25, 2006 1 Respondent failed to appear at the hearing and was found to be in default for his failure to file an answer to the formal complaint. Based on his default, the panel found that respondent failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness to pursue the representation of his client=s son; failed to maintain reasonable communications with his client; failed to refund an unearned fee; and failed to answer a request for investigation served upon him by the Grievance Administrator.

Respondent=s misconduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4) and (7); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); 1.16(d); 8.1(a)(2); and 8.4(a)-(c). The panel ordered that respondent be suspended for 179 days, effective July 25, 2006, and pay restitution in the amount of $500.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,709.36.
