1. Suspension - 135 Days 2. Effective July 20, 2006 1 The hearing panel found that respondent neglected a legal matter entrusted to him; failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in the matter; failed to keep the client reasonably informed about the status of the matter; and failed to timely answer a request for investigation served by the Grievance Administrator.
Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 9.140(A)(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A) and (B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a); 8.1(a)(2); and 8.4(a) and (c).
The panel ordered that respondent=s license to practice in Michigan be suspended for 135 days to run consecutively with the one year suspension ordered in Grievance Administrator v Grover C. Rudolph, ADB Case Nos. 05-04-GA; 05-24-FA. The panel also ordered that respondent pay restitution in the amount of $2,000.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,887.68.
