Effective June 22, 2006 The Grievance Administrator filed Formal Complaint 06-16-GA alleging that respondent committed professional misconduct by knowingly making a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal; engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, or violation of the criminal law, where such conduct reflects adversely on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer; engaging conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice; violating or attempting to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct; engaging in conduct that exposes the legal profession or the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach; and engaging in conduct that is contrary to justice, ethics, honesty or good morals.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to have been in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 3.3(a)(1); and 8.4(a)-(c).
A public hearing was held and the hearing panel, after finding that respondent did not commit professional misconduct, issued an order dismissing the formal complaint. No costs were assessed against respondent.
