NOTICE OF AUTOMATIC INTERIM SUSPENSION Case No. 06-161-AI Notice Issued: November 17, 2006

David H. Safavian, P 48165, Alexandria, Virginia. Effective June 20, 2006. On June 20, 2006, respondent was convicted of two felonies in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia: obstruction of justice, in violation of 18 USC _505; and false statements, in violation of 18 USC _1001. In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent=s license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended on the date of that felony conviction.

Upon the filing of a judgment of conviction, this matter will be assigned to a hearing panel for further proceedings. The interim suspension will remain in effect until the effective date of an order filed by a hearing panel.
