Effective February 21, 2006 The panel found, based on the summary judgment filed May 4, 2006, that respondent, while acting as a bookkeeper for a law firm, wrote numerous checks to herself which were duplicate or unauthorized, in a total amount of $55,572.84, in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(2)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(a) and (c).
Based on the stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that respondent=s license to practice law shall be suspended for two years, effective February 21, 2006, and imposed a condition relevant to the alleged misconduct. Costs were assessed in the amount of $886.61.
