NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case No. 03-09-GA Notice Issued: February 18, 2005 Cornelius Pitts, P 18930, Detroit, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board, affirming Tri-County Hearing Panel #9's order of reprimand.

Effective February 18, 2005 The hearing panel found that, during a murder trial, the respondent misrepresented to the judge that a non-attorney seated at the defense table was an attorney admitted to practice in another state. The panel found that, by making these misrepresentations, respondent committed misconduct in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(3); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(b) and (c).
The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Both the Grievance Administrator and respondent filed timely petitions for review. The Attorney Discipline Board conducted a review hearing and on November 3, 2004, issued an order affirming the hearing panel=s order of reprimand. Respondent filed a motion for reconsideration and for other relief which was denied by the Board on January 21, 2005. Total costs were assessed in the amount of $2,922.01.
