Effective December 1, 2004 The hearing panel found that respondent failed to diligently attend to a client=s matter; failed to keep the client reasonably advised of the status of the matter; failed to pursue the client=s interests as reasonably directed by the client; and did not represent the client competently;
Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.2; 1.3; 1.4 and 8.4(a) and (c).
The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded and pay restitution in the amount of $1,487.50. Costs were assessed in the amount of $3,057.72.
