NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)

1. Reprimand 2. Effective September 15, 2004 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), containing respondent=s plea of nolo contendere to the allegations that, in two post-conviction criminal matters, he failed to respond to his clients= letters and reasonable requests for information; failed to notify one client of the Court of Appeals decision to deny his application for leave to appeal; and failed to inform another client of the Court of Appeals decision issued on January 24, 2003, or how to further proceed with the appeal process. Respondent also pled nolo contendere to the allegations that, in one criminal appeal, he failed to communicate with his client between June 18, 2001 and early April 2002; and, in a second criminal appeal, he failed to respond to his client=s letters and reasonable requests for information from January 2002 to December 2002.

Respondent was charged with violations Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4(a) and (b); and 8.4(a) and (c). The parties agreed that respondent should be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $755.34.
