The hearing panel found that respondent handled a matter without adequate preparation under the circumstances. Respondent=s conduct was in violation fo Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(b) and 8.4(c). The panel ordered that respondent=s license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 30 days, effective September 1, 2004 by stipulation of the parties. Costs were assessed in the amount of $3,345.35.
In accordance with MCR 9.123(A), the suspension was terminated with the respondent's filing of an affidavit of compliance with the clerk of the Michigan Supreme Court on October 1, 2004.
