NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)

1. Reprimand 2. Effective June 16, 2004 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), containing respondent=s plea of nolo contendere to the allegations that, in a criminal matter, he failed to timely obtain discovery materials; failed to undertake reasonable efforts to prepare his client=s case; failed to call witnesses necessary for his client=s defense; failed to request and adjournment of the trial; and appeared late on the day of trial. Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(b) and (c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 3.2; and 8.4(a) and (c). Respondent also pled nolo contendere to a violation of MCL 750.335A.
The parties agreed that respondent should be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $865.62.
