1. Suspension - 30 Days 2. Effective July 7, 2004 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline containing respondent=s admission that, in an immigration matter, he failed to
complete the services on behalf of his clients for which he was retained; failed to keep the clients reasonably informed about the status of their matters; failed to advise his clients that he was moving to Florida until he had already left; failed to return the entire unearned portion of the fee; and without notice to his clients and without taking reasonable action to protect their interests, abandoned the representation. Respondent=s conduct was
in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a) and (c); 1.3; 1.4(a); 1.16(d); and 8.4(a) and (c).
The parties agreed that respondent should be suspended for 30 days. Costs were assessed in the amount of $760.22.
