Effective January 9, 2004 Based on respondent=s default for failure to file an answer to the formal complaint and failure to appear at the public hearings, the hearing panel found that respondent abandoned three civil litigation matters; created a false settlement order in response to one client=s inquiry as to the status of his matter; and failed to file answers to three requests for investigations served by the Grievance Administrator.
Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A) and (B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); 3.2; 8.1(a)(2); and 8.4(a)-(c). The hearing panel ordered that respondent=s license to practice law in Michigan be revoked and assessed costs in the amount of $1,681.15.
