1. Dismissal 2. Effective October 8, 2003 The Grievance Administrator filed Formal Complaint 02-39-GA alleging that respondent, in a divorce matter, offered to prevent the filing of a request for investigation by his client against her attorney husband for the payment of money to his client; offered to forego personally reporting the alleged conduct of the attorney husband to the Attorney Grievance Commission for the payment of money to his client; and used the threat of a request for investigation as an attempt to gain a benefit for his client in a civil matter. Respondent=s conduct was alleged to have been in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.3(a) and 8.4(a)-(c).
A public hearing was held and the hearing panel entered an order dismissing Formal Complaint 02-39-GA. No costs were assessed against respondent.
