NOTICE OF REPRIMAND WITH CONDITIONS (By Consent)

1. Reprimand 2. Effective November 13, 2003 The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), containing respondent=s plea of nolo contendere to the allegation that, in an immigration matter, he failed to ensure that his associate, over which he had supervisory authority, fully and accurately advised his client of the status of his immigrant visa petition. Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.104(A)(1) and (4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 5.1(b) and 8.4(a) and (c). Respondent also pled nolo contendere to the allegation that the conduct in paragraphs 11(a)-(c) violated MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4(a) and (b); and 8.4(a) and (c).
The parties agreed that respondent should be reprimanded and that he shall cease all collection efforts against his client. Costs were assessed in the amount of $760.68.
