NOTICE OF REPRIMAND WITH CONDITION (By Consent)

1. Reprimand; 2. Effective March 29, 2003. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), containing respondent's plea of nolo contendere to the allegations that, in a civil matter, he failed to file an answer to the complaint on his client=s behalf; failed to file a motion to set aside the default; failed to act with reasonable diligence to protect his client=s interests; and failed to advise his client that he was not taking action on his behalf. Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); and 8.4(a) and (c). The parties agreed that respondent should be reprimanded and that respondent shall participate in a law office management class. Costs were assessed in the amount of $755.34.
