NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION (By Consent)
Case No. 02-68-GA Notice Issued: May 5, 2003 Keith Godfrey, P 35353, Detroit, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #23.
1. Suspension - 120 days; 2. Effective March 1, 2003. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), containing respondent=s plea of no contest to the allegations of neglect, failure to release client files, and failure to communicate set forth in Formal Complaint 02-68-GA.
Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3: 1.4: 1.16(d); and 8.4(a) and (c). The parties agreed that respondent=s license to practice law in Michigan should be suspended for 120 days and that he pay restitution in the aggregate amount of $5,200.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $29.74.
