Effective March 11, 2003 At a public hearing, respondent entered a plea of no contest to the allegations that she disregarded her professional obligations by appearing for judicial proceedings while intoxicated. Respondent was charged with violations of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a); 3.2; 3.5(c); and 8.4(a) and (c).
The hearing panel accepted the Grievance Administrator=s recommendation that respondent be placed on probation for one year, retroactive to the date she entered into a contractual agreement with the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program (ALJAP@). The panel also ordered the LJAP to report any violations by respondent to the Grievance Administrator. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,698.99.
