On March 26, 2003, respondent was convicted in the Muskegon County Circuit Court of one count of false pretenses, $20,000 plus, a felony in violation of MCL '750.2185A; and one count of embezzlement $20,000 plus, a felony in violation of MCL '750.1745A. In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent=s license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended on the date of that felony conviction.
This matter has been assigned to a hearing panel for further proceedings. The interim suspension will remain in effect until the effective date of an order filed by a hearing panel.
