NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 02-40-GA Notice Issued: September 5, 2002 Laurence R. Imerman, P-30451, Bingham Farms, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #64.

Effective January 3, 2003.

The hearing panel found, by default, that respondent, in a criminal appeal, failed to timely file the appeal brief; failed to advise his client of the Court of Appeals decision or how to further proceed with his matter; failed to keep his client reasonably informed regarding the status of the matter; and abandoned the representation of his client without notice. Respondent also failed to file an answer to a request for investigation served by the Grievance Administrator. Respondent's conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4; 1.16(d); 3.2; 8.1(b); and 8.4(a) and (c).

The hearing panel ordered that respondent=s license be suspended for one year, to run consecutively with the suspension now in effect in Grievance Administrator v Laurence R. Imerman, ADB Case No. 01-128-GA. Costs were assessed in the amount of $155.82.
