NOTICE OF REVOCATION AND RESTITUTION Case No. 02-10-GA Notice Issued: January 7, 2003 Mark T. Light, P-16673, Okemos, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Ingham County Hearing Panel #5.

1. Revocation; 2. Effective January 7, 2003. The hearing panel found, by default, that respondent failed to file the necessary motions to withdraw from representation for 26 separate clients and failed to advise the courts and opposing counsel that he would no longer be representing these clients. Respondent also failed to file civil actions on behalf of five separate clients and failed to advise those clients that he would not pursue their respective claims. Additionally, respondent failed to advise four separate clients that their matters had been dismissed and verbally misrepresented to each that their respective cases were pending when he knew they had been dismissed. Further, respondent failed to file answer to 31 separate requests for investigation served by the Grievance Administrator. Finally, respondent failed to refund any unearned portion of 35 separate retainers.

Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3: 1.4: 1.5; 1.15(a)-(c); 1.16(d); and 8.4(a)-(c). The panel issued an order revoking respondent's license to practice in Michigan and ordered restitution in the aggregate amount of $133,685.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $777.94.
