NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)

Case No. 00-168-GA Notice Issued: December 6, 2001 Julie M. Strawn, P-41401, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #101.

1. Reprimand; 2. Effective December 6, 2001. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5) in which the respondent offered her plea of no contest to the allegations of professional misconduct contained in Count Two of the complaint: That in response to a request for investigation, respondent failed to make sealed submissions to the court; failed to produce the requested client file and information; and defied the court's order causing the court to find respondent in contempt of court. Respondent's conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.1(b). The parties agreed that respondent should be reprimanded as to Count Two only and that the allegations of misconduct contained in Count One should be heard by the hearing panel.

The hearing panel conducted two hearings regarding Count One and subsequently issued a report and order dismissing Count One and accepting respondent's plea of no contest to the allegations of professional misconduct in Count Two. The panel ordered that the respondent be reprimanded and pay costs in the amount of $630.62.
