1. Revocation; 2. Effective October 18, 2001. On October 18, 2001, respondent was convicted of two counts of false document or writing in violation of 18 U.S.C. ' 1001. Both counts are felonies. In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent=s license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended on the date of his felony conviction. See Notice of Automatic Interim Suspension, dated November 7, 2001.
The Grievance Administrator filed a certified copy of the Judgment of Conviction and the matter was assigned to a hearing pane. A public hearing was held and the hearing panel ordered the revocation of respondent's license to practice law in the State of Michigan effective October 18, 2001, the date of the felony conviction. Costs were assessed in the amount of $188.03.
