NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 00-208-GA Notice Issued: August 27, 2001 James H. Richards, P-35176, Jenson, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Kent County Hearing Panel #1.
1. Reprimand; 2. Effective August 25, 2001. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(f)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Respondent pled no contest to the allegations of professional misconduct contained in Count Two of Formal Complaint 00-208-GA, specifically: That respondent failed to file an answer to a request for investigation served upon him by the Grievance Administrator. Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.1(b); and 8.4(a) and (c). The parties agreed that respondent may be reprimanded and that Count One of Formal Complaint 00-208-GA may be dismissed, along with Formal Complaint 01-8-FA.
The hearing panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded and assessed costs in the amount of $405.35.
