DISMISSAL Case No. 99-177-GA Hugh M. Davis, P-12555, Detroit, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #20.

1. Dismissal; 2. Effective July 14, 2001. On November 3, 1999, the Grievance Administrator filed Formal Complaint 99-177-GA alleging that respondent had committed acts of professional misconduct, specifically: That respondent signed attorneys' names to a joint status report without their permission and filed the report with the court; and filed an affidavit which falsely stated that he had received permission to sign the joint status report and that no attorney objected to any improper signing of names. Respondent=s conduct was alleged to have been in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 3.3(a)(1); 3.3(a)(4); 3.4(b); 3.4(c); and 8.4(a)-(c).

On September 27, 2000, the hearing panel entered an order dismissing Formal Complaint 99-177-GA. The Grievance Administrator filed a filed a petition for review. On June 22, 2001, the Attorney Discipline Board issued an order affirming the hearing panel=s dismissal. No costs were assessed against respondent.
