Reprimand;
Effective June 5, 2001.
The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(f)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Respondent pled no contest to the allegations of professional misconduct contained in paragraph 9(d) of Formal Complaint 01-4-GA, specifically: That in a divorce matter, respondent failed to object to the entry of the default judgment of divorce or take other appropriate action on behalf of his client. Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(1) and (4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(b); and 8.4(a) and (c). The parties agreed that an order of reprimand should be entered.
The hearing panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $16.71.
