NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)

Reprimand;

Effective April 12, 2001.

The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(f)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Respondent admitted the misconduct alleged in Formal Complaint 00-198-GA, specifically: That respondent charged and collected an illegal and/or clearly excessive attorney fee in an uninsured motorist benefits case and a no-fault benefits claim; and engaged in a conflict of interest by entering in prohibited transactions with his clients by providing financial assistance to them in connection with pending or contemplated litigation that was not the advancement of court costs or expenses in the litigation. Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 8.121(A)-(C); 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.5(a) and (c); 1.8(e); and 8.4(a) and (c). The parties agreed that an order of reprimand should be entered.

The hearing panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded and assessed costs in the amount of $109.34.
