The hearing panel found that the respondent committed professional misconduct, specifically: In a divorce matter, respondent neglected to insure the adjournment of the settlement conference and thus prevent the dismissal of the divorce action; and failed to properly file a timely answer to Formal Compliant 00-68-GA served by the Grievance Administrator. Respondent=s conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 3.2; and 8.4(a) and (c).
The hearing panel ordered that respondent=s license be suspended for 181 days. Costs were assessed in the amount of $733.06.
